Pigeon Forge with Kids: A 3-Day Plan
A simple three-day family plan for Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, with drive times from our condos on Plaza Drive.
Traveling with kids? Here's an easy three-day plan we share with families staying at our condos on Plaza Drive. Drive times are approximate.
DAY 1: DOLLYWOOD
• Dollywood: coasters, kid-sized rides, craftsmen and shows. About 10 minutes away. Head out early, since Parkway traffic is heaviest in the late afternoon.
• Summer swap: spend the day at Dollywood's Splash Country next door instead.
DAY 2: THE PARKWAY
• WonderWorks: an upside-down house with hands-on science exhibits, a ropes course and laser tag.
• Titanic Museum Attraction: every guest gets a real passenger's boarding pass. Book ahead in busy weeks.
• The Island in Pigeon Forge: the Great Smoky Mountain Wheel, fountain shows and rides. About 5 minutes away.
• Evening: Crave Golf Club for candy-themed mini golf, or a family-friendly show at The Comedy Barn Theater.
DAY 3: THE MOUNTAINS AND GATLINBURG
• Great Smoky Mountains National Park: the gateway is about 20 minutes away. There's no entry fee, but you do need a parking tag.
• Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies in Gatlinburg (about 20 minutes): a shark tunnel, penguins and a stingray touch pool. Great for a rainy day.
• Gatlinburg SkyLift Park: ride the chairlift up to the SkyBridge.
Tip: Every condo has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, plus free parking for as many cars as you need, so traveling with family or with two families is easy.
