Skyline Stays ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This Policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit bookskylinestays.com, book a stay, or contact us, how we use it, and the choices you have under applicable law — including the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA (CCPA/CPRA), and the California Invasion of Privacy Act (CIPA).
1. Information we collect
- Account & booking data: name, email, phone, billing address, stay dates, guest count, special requests.
- Payment data: processed directly by Stripe; we never store full card numbers on our servers.
- Communications: messages you send to us and records of customer support interactions.
- Device & usage data: IP address, browser type, pages viewed, referring URL, and interaction events — only if you consent to analytics or marketing cookies.
2. How we use it
- Take, confirm, and manage your reservations.
- Send transactional emails (confirmation, pre-arrival, receipts).
- Provide customer support and respond to inquiries.
- Prevent fraud and enforce our Terms.
- With consent: measure site performance, improve content, and show relevant advertising.
- With separate opt-in: send marketing newsletters (you can unsubscribe at any time).
3. Legal bases (GDPR)
We rely on: contract (to fulfill your booking), legitimate interests (fraud prevention, service security), legal obligation (tax, accounting), and consent (analytics, marketing, newsletters).
4. Cookies & tracking (CIPA notice)
We use strictly necessary cookies to run the site (session, cart, security). We do not load Google Analytics, the Meta (Facebook) Pixel, session-replay tools, or any other third-party tracking, advertising, or "wiretap"-style technology until you have given informed, opt-in consent through our cookie banner. This site does not use session-replay, keystroke logging, chatbot transcript sharing, or any tool that would intercept the contents of your communications with us under CIPA §§ 631/632.

5. Sharing & service providers
We share personal information only with vendors that help us operate the site and fulfill bookings: Stripe (payments), Resend / our email infrastructure (transactional email), Hosthub (property calendar sync), Supabase (hosting/database), Cloudflare (delivery/security), and — with your consent — Google Analytics and Meta. We do not sell personal information for money.
6. Your California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)
California residents have the right to know, delete, correct, and limit the use of sensitive personal information, and the right to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise these rights, or to opt out of sharing with advertising partners, use our control, or email privacy@bookskylinestays.com. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signals as an opt-out of sharing. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
7. Your GDPR / UK rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port your data, and object to processing. You may withdraw consent at any time. You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
8. Data retention
We keep booking records for the period required by tax and hospitality laws (typically 7 years). Marketing consent records are kept while your subscription is active. Analytics data is retained for 14 months.
9. Security
We use TLS in transit, encrypted storage at rest, role-based access, and Stripe for PCI-scope card handling. No system is perfectly secure; report any concerns to security@bookskylinestays.com.
10. Children
The site is not directed to children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
11. Changes to this policy
We will post changes on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes will be notified by email where required.
